Hi. My Name is Kartthik Kumarasamy

After debating between multiple universities, the University of Waterloo, with the co-op experience, was the best option. The university catered my interests and provided me with an avenue to develop in the upcoming field of robotics as a Mechatronics student.

Currently, my plans after graduation is to gain more experience as an engineer and then pursue my Masters of Business Admin (MBA).

From a very young age, I had aspirations of becoming an engineer. I wanted to build machines that did not require direct human energy input to operate. I achieved this for the first time in grade 5, designing a vehicle that carried its energy stored in rubber bands; it wasn’t a roaring success, but the fact that it wasn’t perfect only increased my desire to learn more about engineering.

I am a final year Mechatronics Engineering concentrator at the University of Waterloo currently seeking a full-time opportunity in Spring 2016. I have a passion to explore and specialize in hardware design and image processing. I love exercising my creativity to build things that benefits society, be in terms of solving technical problems or bringing up artistic beauty. Aside from engineering, I am a hacker-at-heart – attending Hackathons throughout North America to challenge and build my ideas within 36 hours. I have a desire for projects that integrate electronics with fluid interfaces and simple human interactions.

In my free time I enjoy tinkering / hacking with electronics, travelling, thinking of new ideas for a start-up, playing sports and most of all, spending time with my family and friends.

  • Social Media

    Social Media

Social Media, not only keeps me up to date with the fast-paced tech world, but allows me to leave a trail of my online prescene. Whether it be reading biographies, commenting on forums / blogs (especially as a redditor), it exposes to a vast range of opinions and knowledge throughout the world.

  • Programming

No hardware is complete without software. As a Mechatronics student, programming is essential in the fast-growing robotics industry. I am expanding my knowledge in multiple languages through completing my own personal projects.

  • Photography

I love photography. Am I in any way a professional? No, not even close. But I admire my simple, yet elegant shots.

  • Blogs

Throughout the years, I have started writing blogs of various technological advacements. I will be posting them soon!

  • Time Management

    Time Managment

Time management is important. Despite the work load from university and internships, I manage my time between hacking, spending time with family and friends and most of all playing sports.
