Engine Dissection

Project Description

The main objective of the MTE 100 is to understand the definition of the term Mechatronics. Starting with a two-stroke engine dissection, this exercise allowed us to gain exposure to mechanical design. Starting with a fully disassembled engine, in teams of 3 or 4, team members work together in re-building the engine. The final evaluation consists of testing for the most efficient build by running the engine with gasoline.

Our team had 88% efficiency at our evaulation. This was one of the top efficiencies in the class and was a success as a team since none of the team members had previous experience in mechanical engineering.
