Hack Waterloo 2014

Project Description

This hackathon was unlike any other. As a team of three individuals, our goal was to incorporate the new and upcoming gadgets in creating the ultimate gaming experience. With the use of the Oculus Rift to render the 3D game environment and the MIYO to control simple gestures such as moving forward, aiming and shooting targets in Halo 3, this would allow the user to be more like the in-game character. We were not entirely successful in completing this hackathon. Even though the Oculus Rift was working with Halo 3, we had predicaments with the MIYO hand gestures, as they were not accurate readings. This, however, is still in the works! We hope to have a working prototype soon.
