Minimalistic Bridge Design

In a course in the mechanics of deformable solids we were asked to design a bridge. We decided to do the most minimalistic bridge which served the techinial constraints. Here is what we came up. Our bridge was one of the lightest out of everyone in the class.

The Final Bridge Design. Consisted of: 30 members, 14 trusses and 9 pin joints. The bridge failed at 6.5 kg and weighed 19.7 grams.
